LaPointe.life started in 2016. We are tremendously grateful to you for our supporters who have donated and enabled the work we do to be possible.
Some highlights include:
150 students attended in 2016 and now there are over 600 children receiving an education
In addition to regular salary and growing meals support for the school, we were also able to contribute towards a building expansion at the school that added a second classroom over the summer, significantly expanding the classroom space and affording more of the students the ability to have space to sit during classes.
The record-setting 2017 storm season was not without impact in Haiti, fortunately the Northwestern area was not as badly damaged as we had feared it might be - we sent additional funding following storms which helped with clean-up from the impact of the storm and with food for the neediest families who had homes damaged or destroyed during the storms
On December 20th we received confirmation from the Internal Revenue Service approving our tax-exempt status, taking us from provisional to approved status
This year, our revenue from donations grew to $47,088.19, funding our monthly commitments and contributing towards savings for capital projects at the school.
NOT ONLY HAS THE SCHOOL MAINTAINED A HIGH RETENTION RATE, IT HAS ALMOST DOUBLED FROM THE PRIOR YEAR!
THIS IS THE ONLY FREE SCHOOL FOR MANY MILES AND EVEN MORE FAMILIES HOPE TO SEND THEIR KIDS TO SCHOOL FOR THE FIRST TIME NEXT YEAR
