Behind the Scenes

Our journey started in 2013 when tech company CEO’s and power couple Caleb and Charlotte Whitmore traveled together to a remote part of Northern Haiti called La Pointe. Here they developed relationships with the local doctors who are serving a population of over 700,000 people. As their friendships grew so did the desire to do something more for this forgotten community. Dr. Vilton, an intelligent and innovative local leader and pediatrician, explained her dream of opening a school for the kids in the community. There are no free schools in Haiti, and as the political tensions increase and the economy decreases, educating the young generation is one of the surest ways to break the cycle of poverty. This was the beginning of La Pointe Foundation.

La Pointe Foundation was established in 2016 as a 501(c)(3) with a mission of creating and supporting education, healthcare, and development for the marginalized. Over the years our impact has grown with over 420 kids in school, countless local employment, and numerous lives changed through advancement opportunities. We have been working hard behind the scenes for years, and now are excited to finally share it with you.
